VALLEY OF FLOWERS tour & Hike:

Best Season: Though Garhwal is a treat throughout the year except the rainy season, it is advisable to plan any trekking trip to this region during August till November when the flowers are at full blossom especially the wild blue poppies of the Himalaya.
The Valley was introduced to the world as the Valley of Flowers by Frank S. Smith . He was a

mountaineer, explorer, botanist who camped there for several weeks in the monsoon of 1937 and did valuable exploratory work. He authored a book called " The Valley of Flowers " Which unveiled the beauty and floral splendors of the valley and thus threw open the doors of this verdant jewel to nature - enthusiasts all over the world. Temple in Hemkund is a holy place for Sikh people and many Hindus visit Bhadrinath temple- a Shiva temple.
